God's Peace

30 mei 2024

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. | Philippians 4:6-7

Shalom dear brothers and sisters,

Actually, I have nothing to write at all...

Nothing at all.

That's strange, you might think.

Then you don't have to write.

Well, exactly, I actually don't have to write at all.

But I do want to encourage you with the words from the letter to Philippians that deeply touched my heart this week and still touch me.

God's Word is actually more than enough for me. I don't want anything added, and I don't want anything taken away. Only His Word to 'ponder'. I heard a beautiful song this week. A song sung based on a scripture passage from the Bible. I listen and sing it over and over again. Every time it sinks a little deeper into my heart and makes it become more and more my 'own'. And that is exactly what Jesus wants. He said it in His prayer in John 17, that we would be one with Him.

  • That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

John 17:21-22

These are the lyrics the song is singing from Philippians 4, starting with verse 7, then verse 6:

7. Then you will experience

GOD'S PEACE

the peace of God

which exceeds

anything we can

understand

HIS PEACE

will guard your

hearts and minds

as you live

in Christ Jesus

6. don't worry about

anything

instead

pray about everything

tell God

what you need

and thank Him

for all He has done

I don't need to add anything else, do I? Let these Words of God take root and dwell deep within you and GOD'S PEACE will be yours in all your circumstances.

The song? Yes, I will send it with this message for you to listen to. It's from Project of Love and it's called Philippians 4: God's Peace.

So, instead of worrying, God commands us to instead pray and tell Him everything you need, and thank Him for everything He has done. Then His peace will guard your heart and mind, which passeth all understanding. How beautiful is that!

God's Peace to you!

Awaiting His return,

Natasja
